Testimony from View
This is a testimony from View. I taught View the inductive method through the book of Philemon after which she turned around and taught it to her friends at her church. I Hope you enjoy!
After I had been saved, I still wondered why all believers needed the Bible. Until I finished my DTS in 2009, I thought the way that I usually spent time with God by getting experienced from famous speakers speaking, books, and doing whatever other believes do in general, I consumed much enough to live like that. In March - April in 2010 I was on my summer break and I had an opportunity to ask Jacob Simonis, who was an SBS staff in YWAM Chiang Rai, to teach me on inductive method. I was taught on the book of Philemon and the book of Acts 10 which I learned how to do observation, interpret and application. Later on I decided to teach 5 university students in YWAM Campus Ministry, how to work on inductive method. Anyway they really like it a lot and the most of them still continue working on inductive method by their own.
Now the inductive method enables me to understanding the roughly cultural and historic background of these 2 chapters, helping me to memorize the incidents and interpret the relation between the incidents, people and God in that time. As though inductive method establishes the truth or correctness of my believe and will be difficult for me to fall into wrong teaching, I realize. I am pretty much excited about doing this and I could not imagine how strongly excited I would be if I had finished the whole Bible. I wish that the ones who overlook the Bible, they would try at least one book and they would see how much they need the Bible. I will let you know when I finish the whole Bible or either finish my SBS!
P.S. Thank Jacob Simonis very much for working so hard and put his heart into the extra job (ministry) which he is not working with.
